The latest Counter-Strike 2 patch makes reviewing matches easier and updates the AUG’s reload animations. Published in Valve’s October 14, 2026 patch notes, the update also includes several technical improvements.
What changed in the demo viewer?
Demo and replay downloads now display a progress bar. Camera controls use click-and-drag movement, and both free and chase cameras work while playback is paused. Valve also fixed minor issues when jumping to another point in a demo.
For players reviewing rounds or capturing clips, these changes should make the process more convenient.
AUG reload animations adjusted
Standing and crouching reload animations now better match the AUG’s reload duration. This follows the October 8 patch, which reduced its reload time by half a second.
Additional fixes
Other changes include Vulkan stability improvements, an explicit list of permitted radio commands, a new Workshop tool material, and a server startup flag requirement for round backup files.
Does this update add new CS2 skins?
The patch notes announce no new skins, cases, or trading changes. This release focuses on replay tools, animations, and technical improvements.
